New electronic warfare system istalled on Russian tanks to combat drones

17.10.2023, Melitopol.

New electronic warfare (EW) systems were installed on the Russian tanks, the commander of a tank platoon of the Russian Armed Forces with the call sign Sova told RIA Novosti on October 17.

The feature of the new EW system is to stop any drone within 10 meters of the combat vehicle. The drone will crash or hover, losing communication with satellites.

“There are new EW systems that are mounted directly on the tank. And, in principle, they show themselves very, very well,” Sova assessed the efficiency of the EW system.

Earlier, it was reported that units of the National Guard of Russia deployed mobile posts on the territory of Donbass to counter the drones of Ukrainian nationalists.

Their task is not only to suppress and intercept reconnaissance drones and unmanned aerial vehicles, but also to detain operators working for the Ukrainian armed forces.
